Adding the perspex

The case was now mostly complete, and all that Ediejo wanted to do was tie up some loose ends. Namely, there was still a divider in centre of the case that was covered on one side, but not the other - leaving bare aluminium exposed.


To cover the underside of the divider, Ediejo opted for some nearly black perspex. He chose perspex instead of carbon fibre for several reasons - it was more reflective, so the rather dark lower chamber would be a little bit brighter. It was also much easier to work than carbon fibre, and was a part of the mod that wouldn't be seen nearly as much. He still chose a strip of carbon fibre for the more visible side strip, however.


Because of the perspex panel, the power switch had to be redone. Ediejo notched the perspex and used a metal plate as backing to re-secure the buttons and provide a strong housing.


With the inside now done, he turned his attention to the outside of Carbon-Li. Clear acrylic windows were added to the side panels, attached on the exterior with bolts. Ediejo chose to keep symmetry in the mod by putting a panel on both sides, even though only one was cut for a window. This gave an added benefit of protecting the chameleon airbrushing on the other panel, so it turned out to be good all around.
